About CHUMATEIC Foundation

At Chuma Technologies and Innovations Centre Foundation (CHUMATEIC), our mission is to foster a safer, more skilled, and innovative society by providing advanced training, promoting gender equality in engineering, advocating for water safety, and encouraging STEM innovation. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life through education, empowerment, and sustainable development. 

CHUMATEIC Foundation was founded by Chuma Technologies and Innovations Centre company to serve as a beacon for young women who are disproportionately sidelined in the automotive and mechanics fields upon completion of their courses. It was discovered that although gender mainstreaming is having a positive impact, garage owners remain pessimistic about recruiting female mechanics. 

Providing Internships

The Foundation aims to provide internships to complement initial school-based training with hands-on experience through placements with participating garages in the Women Harnessed and Empowered in Automotive Engineering and Leadership (WHEEL) Programme. This initiative has expanded to include all sectors of transport and safe mass transit, becoming a key advocacy area for the Government of Uganda.

Established with the vision of revolutionizing the fields of transportation safety, engineering, and technological innovation, we have dedicated ourselves to addressing critical issues in these sectors. Born from the industry's need for innovation and inclusive approaches to gender mainstreaming in STEM, we also focus on fostering young people's adoption of inquiry and initiative-based skills training to cater to the new generation of transport vehicles. Our holistic approach combines training, advocacy, and community engagement to drive meaningful change.
